Brooklyn-native Antsy Bonano embarks on the largest cruise ship in the world, where mischief, adventure, and deportation await. - (Baker & Taylor)

A whimsical companion novel to The Schwa Was Here finds the Bonano family joining a week-long Caribbean cruise in celebration of Old Man Crawley's 80th birthday, during which Antsy becomes an unwitting accomplice to a Mexican stowaway who is smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S. - (Baker & Taylor)

The uproarius companion to "The Schwa was Here" and "Antsy Does Time"

In honor of Old Man Crawley’s eightieth birthday, the Bonano family has been invited to celebrate with a weeklong cruise to the Caribbean aboard the world’s largest, grandest ship. But whether on land or at sea, Antsy can’t manage to stay out of trouble: He quickly finds himself the accomplice of stowaway and thief Tilde, whose self-made mission it is to smuggle onto the ship and across the U.S. border illegal immigrants from her native Mexico. When Antsy steps in to take the fall for Tilde, he becomes the focus of a major international incident and the poster child for questionable decisions.

Equal parts clever and riotous, Ship Out of Luck brings back the beloved cast of characters from Neal Shusterman’s acclaimedThe Schwa Was Here and Antsy Does Time.

Antsy can hardly believe his good fortune. Old Man Crawley has invited his family to celebrate his eightieth birthday by joining him on Plethora of the Deep, the fanciest cruise ship in the Caribbean. Since Lexie and her service dog Moxie will also be on board, the only person missing is Antsy's crazy friend Howie, who finds a way to join them. It promises to be the perfect Fourth of July vacation, luxuriously relaxing poolside in the sun. Well, hardly! Antsy's plans take a major detour when he meets Tilde, a cute teenage girl who charms him into crimes both petty and major. It's a funny Shusterman romp that plays right into the latest cruise ship disaster stories while subtly posing adolescent and adult ethical dilemmas, from lying to friends to the Robin Hood rationale of stealing from the rich to take care of the poor. With the Schwa and his mother making a cameo appearance, this companion to The Schwa Was Here (2004) sets sail with a boatload of slapstick, some creative problem solving, and a happy ending.
