Change your password

Your library may allow you to change your own password, but you must first access your patron account with your library account number and current password. If you are working in the library and you want to access your account without a password, a library staff member may be able to type an override password to allow you to view your account. Follow these steps to set a new password.

Note:
Your library may require you to insert a card in a reader and type a password or PIN to use a library workstation. If you change your Polaris patron account password, the password or PIN you use with your card is not affected.

1. Click Patron Account on the menu bar, and log in.

The My Record page is displayed.

2. Click Change Password to display the Change Password form.

3. Type your current password in the Old Password box.

4. Type the new password in the New Password box.

The password must be a minimum of 4 characters and a maximum of 16. You can use letters and numbers, but not special keyboard characters. Letter case (capitals or lowercase) does not matter.

5. Type the new password again in the Verification box.

6. Click Submit.

If the New Password and Verification entries match, a confirmation message is displayed. If you see an error message, repeat steps 4-6.

7. Click Back to return to the My Record page, or click Log Out to quit Patron Access functions and protect your privacy.
